Nike Netherlands
Leeuwinnen

The women's Dutch National Team were growing in success, and surpassing their male counterpart, yet they still wore the lion crest over their hearts. As a proactive project, Wieden+Kennedy proposed replacing this lion crest with a lioness. A symbol by which the women athletes were already called: Orange Lionesses. The aim was to garner support and enthusiasm for the less-watched and less-funded women's team. The work was very well received sparking enthusiasm for the team as they went on to win the European Championships for the first time.

Role: Design and production.
